About Me

Helen (Wallace) Day is a South African based muralist and fine artist whose work can be found both locally and internationally.

Educated at the national school of the arts, her style of artwork is impressionistic, always evident of bold colourful brushstrokes on canvas or wood, or very sensitive markings on paper.

Her subject matter often depicts her love for the African way of life, and the compassion that she feels for the hardships endured by the women and children.

In her work, the sun is often depicted as the symbol of hope that lies in the heart of Africa.
